414, 19-24 In Springfield in ... er ausgeführt wurde - Vgl. den Artikel »Three Lawyers Say Convict Told Them Of Plot on Kennedy« der NYT vom 6.12.1967: »Springfield, Mo., Dec. 5 (AP) - Three lawyers said today that a former United States Secret Service agent [...] had told them that the agency had known before President Kennedy’s assassination that an attempt to kill him had been planned.
An attorney representing the former agent, Abraham W. Bolden, 32 years old, asserted that his client had told him he had been sent to prison after having been refused permission to tell the Warren commission about the alleged information.«

He admitted receiving $1,000 from a man pointed out later to him as Nikolai Fedorovich Popov, who since has left the United States after serving as First Secretary at the Russian Embassy in Washington.« Der Verbindungsmann Popow arbeitete nicht bei der UNO, sondern war 1. 414, 29-36 Das Gericht in ... letzten Stichen abmurksten - Vgl. den Artikel »Eyewitness Tells of 1964 Murder« der NYT vom 6.12.1967: »The witness, Richard Parks, a 27-year-old convict, was the third bank robber and former associate of the four defendants to give testimony against them in the State Supreme Court trial in Queens.
Parks said he was an unsuspected eyewitness when three of the defendants, but not Franzese, loaded the body of Ernest (The Hawk) Rupolo, an underworld informer, into a car trunk.
He related that his job was to leave the car in the middle of the night in the rear parking lot of the Skyway Motel near Kennedy International Airport [...] he saw them transfer Rupolo, still alive, from the trunk of their car.
As Parks told it, the defendants - Florio, William David (Red) Crabbe, and Thomas Matteo - were transferring Rupolo when there was a scream from the victim, ›No! ... No!‹

Dieser Spruch steht im Hochzeitszimmer des Lübecker Rathauses.
Die falsche Schreibweise (richtig: synghet) hat Johnson vermutlich übernommen aus: Enns (1969), S. 92f. Vgl. auch Johnson, Lübeck habe ich ständig beobachtet, S. 80f., wo es über den (diesmal richtig geschriebenen) Spruch und Cresspahl heißt: »es ist denn ein Lübecker Spruch, der für sein Unglück steht«; vgl. HNJ, S. 68, wo der Spruch ebenfalls verwendet wird; Mecklenburg (1996), S. 177.

416, 17 Dicktenhobel- und Abrichthobelmaschine - Eine Dicktenhobelmaschine (oder Dickte) stellt planparallele Flächen in bestimmtem Abstand her. Eine Abrichthobelmaschine bringt durch Hobeln windschief verzogene Bretter in exakte Form mit parallelen Flächen und rechtwinkligen Kanten; s. 657, 7; 1570, 11.
