The last Outbreak of the Plague in the Baltic area at the Beginning of the 18th Century
In the context of the subproject B 2; a comparative overview is provided for
the first time over the last large outbreak of the plague in the Baltic Sea
area, that caused the loss of many lives and brought about multiple social distortions
in numerous cities (among others in Stockholm, Reval, Königsberg, Danzig
and Stettin) in the years 1709 to 1712.
At first, a chronology of the plague's movement as well as a stock-tacking of
the reported mortality rates are planned. Furthermore, a chronologically structured
topography of the outbreak of the plague in Stralsund, which was hit hard in
1710, is in preparation.
